The Eroticism of Story-Telling

Black Spark via TheSword
Today, when I looked over all the Back Spark videos and some of the comments it started, I was reminded of discussion I had with Eria after we first saw I want your love.

We were taking and fondly remembering the era of  "classic porn" and soft porn. We started by making a little bit of fun at Emmanuelle, but then we remembered how excited we were to see a little bit of breast...and I remembered how disappointed I was that there was no cock showing. Still, the soft porn movies were oddly inciting. I got my first taste of fetish from a bunch of spanking videos my dad kept hidden behind the workbench in the garage...I am yet to see a bsdm video that made me feel the same as those old VHS tapes. In fact, I am yet to recover the same degree of excitement when I watch today's clear-cut porn, regardless of make, model or type.

Eria's theory was the exta excitement came from the thrill of the new, forbidden and the covert. Maybe for her, in my house porn was something overt. Dad kept the VHS hidden not from me and my siblings, but from my mom, the neighborhood mommy committee that was gathering in our house...and other kids that came around to play. In fact, when I turned 15 he showed me where they were.

I can't belive in the hidden is erotic theory either. Remember "Behind the Green Door", "Deep Throat" and
The Devil in Miss Jones?

My theory is that what made them great is the storytelling, the narrative line that builds up to sexual act. That in itself enhances the excitement. Even the way the things are told. I remember there was a time when I was jerking off with my eyes closed, listening to Emmanuelle telling a story. I remember cuming to hers and his ecstatic moans.

Some of the best jerk-offs I ever had were reading gay erotica novels (I think they were pretty old)...boy, has hard and almost shooting before they got to the fucking!

Show me how we meet, how we turn around each other like peacocks and flirt, how we laugh together before to jumping into the sack. Tell me a nice story...lie to me! Show me how we reach into the drawer and put on a condom (speaking of which, I find the magically appearing condom the worst thing you can do to promote safe sex). Even that can be erotic. Hell, even seeing a glimpse of a condom full of cum is!

Seeing the guys from "I want your love" lying there naked, asleep after sex was the very thing that made me blow a load. It's these little things that make the great things great!

Sure, sometimes you want a fast relief... you want to see a hole being stretched or fucked red/raw. But for that, I don't need to spend 40$ on a DVD or 24$/month on porn site membership. For that, a 4 minutes video FREE off Xtube is enough.

This is why pieces like Focus\Refocus, To the Last Man, Whorey Potter and even the web miniseries Golden Gate, Raising the Bar or RandyBlue's Text, Lies and Video have been so well received. They added something extra to the mix. And if you ask me, they didn't go far enough! After all, as human, we can feel more then one thing at once..and we like the complex game of feelings and desires. I like to laugh and then cum. I like to feel a little bit of guilt about fucking Eria in the stall at work and then cum. I like the thrill of danger and the sexual excitement at the same time.

...and reading the comments that Black Spark's work and I want you love have make me feel that I am not alone in my desire for more out of professionally made porn. People in the industry keep crying and yelling that free porn is killing the industry. Then why is it that they insist in serving us, the consumer, with same/identical content that I can get for free? Why not go for brokes and provide me with something that Xtube will not be able to bring to the table? Is it that much more expensive?  How much did I want your love needed to start production? Do the current pornographers (directors/producers) know how to tell stories anymore?

I'd love to hear your feeling and opinions on this...am I wrong?
